Built from the ground up in Eastern North Carolina — a nonprofit ensemble dedicated to excellence, community, and the transformative power of the marching arts.
Why We Exist
Voltage Independent Percussion exists to provide young performers ages 14–22 with world-class education and performance opportunities in the indoor percussion activity. Competing in WGI Independent A class, we believe that the discipline, teamwork, and artistry developed through marching percussion creates leaders — on and off the floor.
We hold ourselves to the highest standard in everything we do — from rehearsal to performance.
We are a family. Every member, parent, and supporter is part of the Voltage community.
We challenge every performer to grow — technically, musically, and as a person.
We do the right thing, always. On the floor and off it.
Our Story
Voltage Independent Percussion was founded with a simple belief: that Eastern North Carolina deserves a world-class indoor percussion program. Too many talented young performers in our region had no local outlet for their passion. We built Voltage to change that.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, every dollar we raise goes directly back into the program — funding instruments, transportation, educational clinics, and scholarships for performers who need financial support. We are community-funded and community-driven.
The Team
Our educators bring decades of marching arts experience to every rehearsal.
